I had the pleasure of shooting several graduates this graduation season! Coincidentally, they all received their Masters from Georgetown University! When I first started my photography business I never imagined that graduation portraits would be a part of my business, but I'm so glad that it is. I love meeting these young(er) people who are at the beginning of their careers. I love their enthusiasm about where they can go and what they can do. I feed off of their desire to fuel their passions outside of their careers as well. And it's extra nice when I come away from each shoot with a new friend! They (whoever "they" is) say that your vibe attracts your tribe and I can definitely see that in my photography business. (Sidenote: Maybe I'll do a future post on community and supporting each other.)
Allissa and I shot these photos on the campus of Georgetown University. What you can't see is that there was so much going on around us! They were setting up for the start of Alumni Weekend, so we were lucky that we got there early enough to shoot before the crowds appeared. Georgetown has such a beautiful campus (and the streets right outside of the gates are just as beautiful), so it was easy to find the right angles to keep the photos very clean and distraction-free. (Sidenote: I think that I will do a future post on some of my favorite DC locations to shoot photos.)
Congratulations to Allissa and all of my clients who recently graduated! I look forward to the next graduation season!
