First, let me say hello! I'm so glad that you found my photography website. Thank you for staying and taking a look around. Since this is my first blog post, I want to take the time to tell you a little bit about myself.
Long before I had my photography business, I was a style and lifestyle blogger at Blitz And Glam. I started Blitz And Glam in 2010 as a creative way to share some of my favorite things, primarily, football and fashion. Blogging has been one of the best experiences! I met so many new friends, traveled, worked with amazing brands, and had some once-in-a-lifetime experiences that I wouldn't have had without my blog. However, one of my many frustrations with the style part of the blog was consistently getting great photos. These days you can't be a successful style blogger without them. While I believe written content still must be good, you can really slide by if your style resonates with people and you showcase it with A+ photography. Because let's be honest, how many people are even reading the content anymore? I will admit that I don't unless you're sharing written content that I'm really interested. Otherwise, I just look at the photos and keep it moving (that is, if I even go to the blog. I mostly just look at Instagram).
That frustration led me to finally buy a camera and take a photography class. Photography was something that I was interested in for years, but I had never taken this step. Once I started, I loved everything about it! After years of studying and learning from other photographers and with lots of practice (thanks to all of my friends who let me be their photographer over the years), I finally got over my "Imposter Syndrome" and decided that I am indeed good enough to start a business. And wow, has it been a great start so far!
Just like my blog, my photography focuses on the things that I love and things that I have experience with - fashion and beauty, lifestyle, and branding. I love working with other content creators, social media influencers, stylists, and brands to get them images to help take their businesses and passions to the next level. My mission is to provide a great experience and to develop an on-going relationship with each person I shoot.
If you're in the Washington, DC area, let's shoot. If you're not in the Washington, DC area, I'm available for travel, so send me a message and we can discuss how to make it happen. Stay tuned to the blog portion of Tamara Marbury Photography where I will be sharing more photos from shoots and perhaps introducing you to some of the people I have the privilege of shooting!
